Angel Pennyman moves through life with a grace and wisdom beyond her years. I have had the pleasure of getting to know Angel through the ministry of Community Bible Study and have grown to love her as a personal friend. Her relationship with the Lord is evident in her passion for God’s Word and sharing His Truth with others. God is truly glorified through her life as she impacts people for His Kingdom!

Angel and I first met in a community bible study class when our kids were very young. Though we hadn't met until then, our hearts were quickly bound together in the love we shared for Jesus. As I got to know her over the following years I grew to admire her honesty, even regarding life's struggles, her steadfastness, even in the face of tragedy, and her resolute devotion to her Lord and Savior. She has been a confidant, a source of sound counsel and someone I can laugh with until my stomach hurts. She is one-of-a-kind and I am so very thankful for our friendship.

To explain how awesome Angel is in a only few words is challenging. There are so many ways Angel has impacted me through the years. From her many wise words years ago in our small group, to the amazing witness of her character and deep dependency in the Lord since then. In sharing about her journey through James’ health and death, her faith has been a true inspiration in how to walk out a life trusting in the Lord. Her steadfast trust was what blew me away and made me want to be more like her in my actions and my faith. In a nutshell, Angel is a true friend, one I trust wholeheartedly and one I know will pray when I ask for prayer. She’s a precious gem in the sight of the Lord!

Who is Angel to me? Angel is the truest blessing of a friend that anyone could ever receive. She thinks of others before herself, even when times are hard. Ph 2:3-4 ....Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others. She is a peacemaker who seeks peace and harmony. Mt 5:9 Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God. She is secure in her identity as a beloved daughter of the Lord. She also knows that this is my identity as well, which is why she is always there cheering me on. She is a motivator and always encourages me. 1Th 5:11 Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing. She helps me be the best version of myself. Pr 27:17 As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another. Angel has a sweet spirit that can only come from God. She is obedient to our Heavenly Father and is a blessing to all who have the pleasure of being in her presence. I, along with my entire family, love her dearly and claim her as our own.

I’ve known Angel for many years – since we were in small group together as single women. To see her growth and strength throughout the years is truly inspiring. I’ve watched her go through highs and lows, and she seemed to always remain steadfast in her dedication to following God’s purpose for her life. She’s shown humility and strength as a mother and wife, and in times when it seems others would falter in their faith, she held on to become stronger in her trust in God’s promises and the peace only He can provide. Angel is a true inspiration to many and I'm thrilled to call her friend.
